According to Inpia (Public Relations of the National Association), one of the problems now facing the country’s exporters It is a matter of customs values. The base customs value of export goods is set at $ 3 per kilogram, which is due to the wide range of products Polymer a> y, this figure is not reasonable. The Export Commission of the National Association of Plastic Industries and Polymer also negotiated with the collection to adjust this rate. Customs, the Trade Development Organization, and members of the National Association have worked together to find solutions to these obstacles. This afternoon, a meeting was held in the country’s customs value determination committee, which was also attended by representatives of the National Association. Inpia talked about this with Bijan Saharnaz, the head of the National Association Export Commission. Regarding this meeting, he said: “The Trade Development Organization had previously asked us to set real rates through specialized organizations.” We had correspondence and meetings with the specialized organizations of the National Association to find a suitable solution to resolve this issue. We also obtained figures for different ranges of plastic products. Following the follow-up of the Export Commission, the Customs Valuation Office invited us today to attend the meeting with Mr. Sahaf Amin, President of the National Association, and Ms. Alirezaei, Secretary of the Association. The committee consisted of customs experts, a representative of the Chamber of Commerce and representatives of the Trade Development Organization, whose agenda was to determine the base value of the export goods of plastic products.
Dr. Saharnaz continued: “In this meeting, we explained what the situation is like and considering the obstacles that exist in the country, the production units are finally producing with 30% of their capacity.” Therefore, in order for the production units not to lose the same power, we must remove the export barriers so that the foreign markets can replace the domestic markets and in this way, the country’s economic wheel will move.
National Association emphasizes exporters’ self-declaration
A member of the board of directors of the National Association further explained: The current customs value rate has deprived domestic producers of the possibility of competition. Accordingly, our emphasis in this meeting was for exporters to self-declare the value at which they exported their goods. As much as we can take steps in favor of the country’s exports and allow real producers to gain more power for production, it will ultimately benefit the entire economy. That is why we base ourselves on the honesty of domestic producers and allow them to self-declare the basic value of their products. The friends present in the value determination committee believed that due to the conditions of the country, this decision is beyond their authority and they are not able to make this decision. But two decisions were made, which I think were good decisions.
Two important resolutions; Inquire from the National Association and determine the expert rates
The head of the National Association Export Commission explained about these two resolutions: first, that the value assessment office will definitely correspond and inquire with the National Association to determine the customs values, and second, that the National Association will meet with its experts and specialized associations in the coming days. Hold correspondence and rate different products separately and professionally. Therefore, we will once again hold a meeting with the organizations and in a transparent and documented manner, the customs values in relation to the case by case of all types of products Polymer We will identify different qualities to achieve a reasonable number and lead to the development of the country’s exports.
In the end, Bijan Saharnaz emphasized: If the adjustment of this rate is delayed, exporters will lose their target markets and this will be a damage to the country’s economy in the face of sanctions. Therefore, during this period, the Export Commission has made every effort to open the export sector of the plastics industry. If the decision-makers also take into account the expert opinions of the association, we hope that part of the problems of the production units will be solved.
