Innovation is essential to maintain export markets in the polymer industry

Alireza Shirmohammadifard, one of the speakers at the National Conference on Polymer Industry Innovation, said in an interview with INPIA about the necessity of innovation in the polymer industry: We do not have enough use next to our country. This issue requires a change of approach and strengthening of innovation in industries. He added: “For example, during one of our trips to Armenia, we found out that this country imported a polymer product that all the provinces of our country produce, at a price many times higher than the United States, instead of importing it from Iran.” Shirmohammadi pointed out: “Despite sanctions, our country has experienced significant growth in the field of science and technology and has gained top rankings in the field of nano and bio in the region and the world, because an ecosystem called knowledge-based ecosystem was formed with government support.” It benefited in various situations, but in the category of exports, despite the serious needs that exist in this area, this did not happen. The head of the Permanent Export and Investment Center explained in this regard: “One side of these exports are the producers, which we did not enable them to enter the market.” Today, if the Chinese government withdraws its support from manufacturers, China’s exports will certainly be disrupted, but the other side is the customers or applicants for export products who, despite the large markets for polymer around our country, are still not well identified. . According to Shirmohammadi, in order to get acquainted with the target markets of the polymer industry, we must change our perspective and look at ourselves from the perspective of the target markets. In an ecosystem that needs tape, we have to change our perspective and look at the buyer. He added: “We have always looked at the eyes of the manufacturer while we have to see what the buyer needs, what changes this buyer will make in the future and will we be ready for these changes?” For example, Iraq, which used to import macaroni from Iran, later banned the import of this product. Every country seeks to create jobs for itself, and this country also tried to produce this product domestically by importing production machines. Shirmohammadi continued: “We had not prepared ourselves for these changes and we could not provide the machines for the production of this product to Iraq.” This lack of attention caused Turkey to enter this market and take over all the machines and industries of macaroni production in Iraq and sell their machines to them. “The important thing is that such changes will take place in all neighboring countries, and we need to study the surrounding markets by changing our perspective,” said the head of the Permanent Export and Investment Center. Shirmohammadi said that in the Eurasian Union agreement signed between 5 countries and Iran, one of the largest shares in tariffs is allocated to Iran in the field of polymer industry: “Unfortunately, our polymer producers have little knowledge of these tariffs and should be Take full advantage of this opportunity. Regarding the benefits of innovation for the polymer industry, he said: “We can expect innovation when in the future this innovation becomes a product to be sold and the capital spent in this direction returns, because innovation without a sales market has no effect on industries.” The head of the Permanent Center for Export and Investment of Innovation emphasized: in the polymer ecosystem of the country, the need for good innovation has not been identified and our producers do not move due to this need. Shirmohammadi pointed out: “Today, all of us should consider ourselves in need of the scientific sector, and this issue should be considered in conferences and seminars. We can not separate ourselves from the scientific and research space.” The research and development index of developed countries is increasing and we should pay attention to these issues in conferences such as the Innovation Conference in the polymer industry. He also considered the sequence of holding conferences important and said: “The topics and topics selected should also originate from the needs of the market to lead our manufacturer to create an atmosphere of innovation and ultimately sell that product and generate wealth for the country.”
