Following the technical inspections of the National Polymer Industries Association and in collaboration with the Iran’s Home of Industry, Mine and Trade & Waste Management Organization, a group of producers and environmental activists visited the Arad Kooh processing complex located on the old Qom road today.

Polymer manufacturers visited the Arad Kooh waste recycling center to improve plastic recycling methods and reduce environmental pollution. The center was established with the aim of collecting, separating, and recycling recyclable waste. During this visit, polymer manufacturers became familiar with the methods available at the center and examined existing problems. They also discussed how to use recycled waste in polymer production. This visit was very useful for improving recycling methods and increasing cooperation between polymer manufacturers and recycling centers.

On a daily basis, this center receives an average of 6,000 tons of various types of waste from 22 areas of Tehran.
The center has processing units, composting sites, compost refining units, reject incineration systems, and a wastewater treatment plant.
According to the latest statistics, 375 waste trucks collect Tehran’s waste from 9 collection stations daily and unload it at this center.
The goal of this visit was to provide manufacturers with an up-close understanding of the plastic recycling process and to familiarize them with the challenges facing this process in Iran.

The Education Committee of the National Association of Polymer Industries of Iran is holding periodic discussion and dialogue sessions on the latest recycling and waste management technologies and biodegradable products.
