The exhibition featured 20 different zones, with extrusion machines, plastic packaging, and injection molding being the most prominent areas. Zones 8 and 17 were dedicated to the rubber industry, and zones 20, 16, 6, and 10 focused on bioplastics and recycling technologies.

Countries such as Italy, France, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Austria had pavilions at CHINAPLAS 2023. Germany had the most booths in ten halls, with 103 of them showcasing their products and services, mainly in injection molding, extrusion lines, semi-finished materials, and reinforced plastics marketed under the “Made in Germany” label.

The exhibition showcased a wealth of new technologies, including advanced high-tech molding, low-carbon and circular technologies for producing biodegradable and recyclable plastics. The MH series multi-component injection molding machine was one of the intelligent devices showcased. The diversity of innovative materials at CHINAPLAS 2023 was another key feature, with innovative recycled and bio-based materials taking center stage.

Design and innovation were in the spotlight at the exhibition, with the Design x Innovation event bringing together prominent designers, innovators, and suppliers to showcase the latest trends and advancements in the plastics industry. The Design x Innovation Gallery and the Design Forum featured environmentally friendly, smart, and stylish materials and informative presentations.

Tech Talk speeches related to environmentally friendly solutions for plastics were held during the exhibition, with leading suppliers of sustainable innovative materials and technologies introducing themselves. Amcor and HP showcased their latest applications that address green packaging challenges. More than 800 polymer industry experts and scholars showcased their latest solutions simultaneously in green and low-carbon packaging, recycling technologies, and the use of up-to-date polymer material recycling methods, in collaboration with the China Plastic Recycling Association.

ExxonMobil presented sustainable solutions for advanced recycling of plastic waste in various applications, including packaging, sanitation, automotive, agriculture, construction, and consumer products, under the challenge of “Creating Sustainable Solutions Together.” The company unveiled various products such as full polyethylene single-material stand-up pouches, complete polyethylene laundry bead packaging, and thermoformed packaging without polyamide, as well as heavy-duty sacks, waste liners, recycled polyethylene content courier bags, and Mobil lubricant bottles containing recycled and modified HDPE content with Vistamaxx performance polymer to help increase durability.
