The National Polymer Industries Association of Iran, in collaboration with the economic media group Donya-ye-Eghtesad, recently organized the 4th Conference on the Outlook of Iran’s Plastic Industries Economy. The event, which took place from June 20-22, 2023, saw over 1,500 industry professionals gather to discuss the economic outlook of the plastic industry in 1402. With 200 member companies, the National Polymer Industries Association recognizes the challenges and obstacles facing its subsidiaries and sought to address these issues through the conference.

 

Dr. Barmak Ghanbarpour, the conference’s secretary-general and a board member of the National Polymer Industries Association of Iran, highlighted the main objectives of the event, which included establishing two-way communication between economic actors and decision-makers, introducing investment opportunities in the industry to companies, and increasing interaction with universities. The conference also aimed to address industry concerns, provide solutions to challenges, and improve technical knowledge while preserving the environment.

 

Throughout the conference, policymakers and economic experts gave speeches and participated in dedicated panel discussions on the current issues facing the polymer industry. The event offered a platform for debate and discussion amongst industry professionals, with the ultimate goal of driving progress and growth in the plastic industry in Iran.

 

Key topics discussed at the Plastic Industries Economics Conference included the circular economy and a focus on the growing recycling industry. Speakers such as Dr. Shervin Ahmadi, Milad Mehranpour, Alireza Sahaf Amin, Alireza Mirbolook, and others addressed subjects such as biodegradable plastics, innovative recycling processes, rumors surrounding the recycling industry, and new technologies in the polymer industry. Dr. Barmak Ghanbarpour, the conference’s chief editor, also examined the position of Iran’s plastic industry and presented statistics on its growth.
